What is a Content Management System (CMS)?

A Content Management System (CMS) makes it easy for non-technical contributors to maintain and expand their website. A CMS uses software and a database to manage and organise website content. Once a visitor makes a request to the website the CMS selects the correct content and displays it in a customised interface template.

• Designed with non-technical content authors in mind. People with only average knowledge of word processing applications, such as MS Word, can create the content directly. No previous HTML knowledge is required.

NB. As of July 09 we no longer support IE 6. Whilst every effort is made for the websites we build to be operational in IE6, we have made the decision that  full IE6 support is holding back on functionality and design for the vast majority of users so there may be slight structural variation when viewing using IE 6.
